MaRDiE welcomes submissions of roughly 6,000 – 10,000 words, excluding endnotes. MaRDiE kindly asks authors to adhere to the Chicago Manual of Style (CMS), 18th edition (See the MaRDiE Style Guide for more information).
If authors have any questions that extend beyond the information provided, we invite authors to contact the general editors to ask for clarification. The information provided is periodically updated to ensure that all information is as up to date as possible.
Manuscripts should be submitted as either Word documents or PDFs.
We additionally ask authors to remove all identifiable information from their manuscript submission including the author’s name and institutional affiliation.
Manuscript submissions should be sent to the General Editors:

The subject line of the email should include the author’s name, institutional affiliation, and an abbreviated version of the title.
- Ex. First Name Last Name, Institutional Affiliation, “Abv. Title”
With your emailed manuscript submission, be sure to include a brief abstract of 100-200 words.
If your manuscript includes any images, these should be submitted via email alongside the initial manuscript and abstract in grey scale or black and white as a .jpg, pdf, or a .png. Images will only be accepted if the authors have received proper permissions.
Timeframe
Authors should receive a receipt of acknowledgment within two weeks. If the manuscript clears initial editorial evaluation, the manuscript will move forward to external peer review.
After MaRDiE receives the readers’ reports and the editorial board has had an opportunity to consider the reader reports, MaRDiE will follow up with the author regarding a decision and next steps.
MaRDiE strives to provide a reader’s report in approximately eight to twelve weeks, but please note that the time frame for this process can vary significantly depending on the rhythm of the academic calendar and the availability of reviewers.
